4. Brighten up mundane items, such as lampposts and mail boxes. Surround these items with flowers planted to gain an advantageous benefit the first to the last to flower. You could have white snowdrops, purple and gold crocus, blue hyacinths, and various colored tulips. You could also surround the posts with rocks to provide added interest.

5. Simple, but effective weed control is possible for your lawn through the oft repeated mowing action when it is springtime. The prevention of dandelion spread will be caused by the yellow blossoms being taken out and preventing seed formation. During late spring, and also early summer, mowing should be done quite high. The shading of the ground by grass blades will thereby be allowed, and will help prevent crabgrass from sprouting.

Money in quantities need not be spent on herbicides and fertilizers that cost a lot, or fancy lawn furniture and ornaments. Carefull thinking and a sensible attitude will take you as far as you need to go to enhancing that space outside your home a much better place.
