Should you be fortunate to have a lawn with a good topsoil base, much of the hard work of keeping a lawn beautiful is already done for you. This will prevent dandelions spreading by the yellow blossoms being taken out and stopping seeds to form. A highness of mowing is good in early summer, carrying on from late spring. The shading of the ground by grass blades will thereby be allowed, and will help prevent crabgrass from sprouting.

Your lawn and garden is expected to be somewhere that your pride and your creation's beauty shines through. Money in quantities need not be spent on expensive fertilizers and herbicides, or either chairs and tables, or statues, etc for the lawn. A little commonsense and thought can go a long way to making your lawn and garden a place that's much better.
