3. Don't just have your garden out ther, but take it closer to you; hyacinths should be planted close to doors, as well as paths. Their wonderful scent will take over the atmosphere ofspring to produce a garden atmosphere you would never have believed possible.

4. Surround nongarden things with garden things, such as lampposts and mail boxes. Smother such mundane things with planted flowers to benefit from flowers that go from the earliest to flower right up to the ones that flower last. You could have white snowdrops, purple and gold crocus, blue hyacinths, and various colored tulips. The base of the posts would benefit from the placement of stanes and rocks to lift them from their mediocrity.

5. The control of weeds can be achieved on your lawn by making spring the time to mow regularly. The effect that will be achieved is the suppression of the spread of dandelions by eliminating the yellow blossoms and stopping seeds to form. A highness of mowing is good in early summer, carrying on from late spring. The shading of the ground by grass blades will thereby be allowed, and the sprouting of crabgrass will also be prevented from happening.
