If your luck is such that you're lawn is growing on rich top soil, much of the hard work of keeping a lawn beautiful can be dispensed with altogether. But many of us do not have this luxury, and besides, should a top soil base that is excellent exist, the need to put in effort still exists to keep in excellent condition, you lawn and garden.

3. Your garden should be brought right up to you; plant hyacinths near walkways and doors. The heady perfumed smell will take over the atmosphere ofspring to produce a garden atmosphere you would never have believed possible.

4. Bring you garden to the things that don't belong in a garden, lamp posts and mail boxes being an example. Surround these items with flowers planted to gain an advantageous benefit the earliest to the latest flowerings. You could have white snowdrops, crocuses of a purple or gold hue, tulips of a variety of colors, and hyacinths colored blue. You could also surround the posts with rocks which will give better interest to the items.

5. The control of weeds may take place on the environs of your lawn by mowing often during spring. The effect that will be achieved is the suppression of the spread of dandelions through the elimination of the blossoms which are yellow and stopping seeds to form. A highness of mowing is good in early summer, carrying on from late spring. The shading of the ground by grass blades will thereby be allowed, and the sprouting of crabgrass will also be prevented from happening.

Your lawn and garden should be a source of pride and beauty. You don't need to spend lots of money on herbicides and fertilizers that cost a lot, or either chairs and tables, or statues, etc for the lawn. Some careful preplanning will carry you far to enhancing that space outside your home a place that's much better.
