4. Bring you garden to the things that don't belong in a garden, for example, your mail box and any lamp post. Smother such mundane things with planted flowers to take advantage of the earliest to the latest flowerings. You could have white snowdrops, crocus, both purple and gold hued, tulips of whatever color, as well as hyacinths that are blue. The base of the posts would benefit from the placement of stanes and rocks to lift them from their mediocrity.

5. Simple, but effective weed control is possible for your lawn through the choice of springtime as a suitable time to mow often. The prevention of dandelion spread will be caused through the elimination of the blossoms which are yellow and preventing seed formation. Late spring and early summer is the time to mow high. This will allow grass blades to shade the ground, as well as crabgrass being prevented from performing a sprouting action.
