3. Don't just have your garden out ther, but take it closer to you; hyacinths should be planted close to doors, as well as paths. The heady perfumed smell will take over the atmosphere ofspring to produce a garden atmosphere you would never have believed possible.

4. Surround nongarden things with garden things, such as lampposts and mail boxes. Smother such mundane things with planted flowers to take advantage of the earliest to the latest flowerings. A suitable selection might be made up of snowdrops that are white, crocus, both purple and gold hued, blue hyacinths, and various colored tulips.
