Locating home and garden decor and fountains

home and garden decor and fountainsIf you're lucky enough you're lawn is growing on rich top soil, much of the hard work of keeping a lawn beautiful need not cause you any worries. But many of us do not have this luxury, and it should be remembered that, even with a good topsoil base, you will not be able to fully relax to hold the beauty of a fine garden and an excellent lawn.

1. The best time to mow a lawn is when observation suggests that coolness and dryness exists. Wait for the morning dew to dry off, before the heat of the afternoon is on you. An alternative plan is to do this late on in the afternoon, or early on in the evening following a watering when it was morning, which is a fine time as well.

2. A hedge is a much better boundary divider than the qualities provided by fencing. It will provide better privacy, keep pets and children in or out. The shelter it provides will attract birds, and it will give a backdrop that will set off your flowers as well as your plants.

3. Bring the beauty of your garden to you; hyacinths can be planted near doors and near paths. The scented, perfumed air they produce will swamp the spring air to produce a garden atmosphere you would never have believed possible.

4. Bring you garden to the things that don't belong in a garden, for example, your mail box and any lamp post. Wrap these things with flowering items that have been planted to benefit from the first to the last to flower. You could have white snowdrops, crocuses of a purple or gold hue, blue hyacinths, and various colored tulips. The base of the posts would benefit from the placement of stanes and rocks which will give better interest to the items.

5. Simple, but effective weed control may take place on the environs of your lawn through the oft repeated mowing action when it is springtime. This will prevent dandelions spreading by eliminating the yellow blossoms and stopping seeds to form. Mow high during late spring and early summer. Grass blades can thereby be allowed to shade the ground, and the total suppression of crabgrass sprouting will be achieved.

The garden and the lawn that you own should be a source of pride and beauty. You don't need to spend lots of money on non cheap enhancing compounds for your garden, or either chairs and tables, or statues, etc for the lawn. Carefull thinking and a sensible attitude will carry you far to making your lawn and garden a place that's much better.
